2027 Lighthouses of British Columbia - By Land, Sea and Air
08 days · 15 Lighthouses ·
From Puget Sounds working harbors to the wild, fog-wrapped shores of Vancouver Islands west coast,
this eight-day journey traces the beacons that have guided mariners through some of the Pacifics most
treacherous waters. We begin in Seattle, cross the Strait of Juan de Fuca on the M.V. Coho, and spend
five nights in Victoria, one of the oldest cities in Canada. From there we get close to the lights by
chartered boat, visit Canadas first west coast lighthouse, and take to the skies by seaplane to see six
remote west coast lights that few travelers ever reach. Join us for an up-close look at these towers by
land, sea and air.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Friday May 7, 2027 (D)
We start this adventure in Seattle at the Seattle Airport Marriott, an easy hotel shuttle ride from SeaTac
airport. We will have our Welcome Dinner here this evening and get to know each other.
Day 2 - Saturday May 8, 2027 (B/L/D)
After breakfast we board our coach and begin our journey at Browns Point Lighthouse, on the eastern
side of Commencement Bay. From there we travel to Point No Point Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse
on Puget Sound, standing since 1879. After lunch and a tour we head off to Point Wilson Lighthouse at
historic Fort Worden. We end the day in Port Angeles, where we will have dinner and spend the night at
the Red Lion Hotel Port Angeles Harbor.
Day 3 - Sunday May 9, 2027 (B/D)
Today we travel to Vancouver Island on the M.V. Coho ferry, crossing the Strait of Juan de Fuca and
catching a glimpse of Trial Islands Lighthouse as we enter the harbour. We check in to the Coast Victoria
Hotel & Marina, our home for the next five nights. The remainder of the day is yours to explore Victoria,
B.C., one of the oldest cities in Canada. From downtown you can walk to Ogden Point for a view of the
Ogden Point Breakwater Lighthouse. This evening we gather for dinner in a private room at the hotel.
Day 4 - Monday May 10, 2027 (B)
This morning we board a private motorboat in the Inner Harbour for a 4 hour chartered lighthouse
cruise, getting close to Trial Islands, Race Rocks and Brotchie Ledge Light Stations. This area is also
prime territory for Orcas, sea lions and harbor seals, so keep a lookout. The afternoon is free in Victoria.
Day 5 - Tuesday May 11, 2027 (B/L)
After breakfast we hop on the coach to visit Fisgard Lighthouse and Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Site.
Built in 1860, Fisgard was Canadas first permanent lighthouse on the west coast. We enjoy a guided
walk through the coastal grounds and lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Victoria for a free
afternoon.
Day 6 - Wednesday May 12, 2027 (B/D)
Today we take to the air! A 3 hour seaplane tour traces six remote west coast lighthouses: Pachena
Point, Carmanah Point, Cape Beale, Amphitrite Point, Estevan Point and Nootka. Every passenger has a
window seat, and we circle each lighthouse for about 8 minutes. This is one of the densest lighthouse
clusters on the entire Pacific Coast. This evening we have dinner together at a local restaurant in
Victoria.
Day 7 - Thursday May 13, 2027 (B/L/D)
We spend our last full day in Sooke. We tour the Sooke Region Museum, home of the Triangle Island
Lighthouse Fresnel lens exhibit, and visit the dramatic Sheringham Point Lighthouse above the cliffs of
Sooke, a walk of about 1/3 of a mile. After lunch in Shirley we stop at Goldstream Provincial Park on the
way back to Victoria. Our Farewell Dinner will be in a private room at the hotel. This will be a time to
show pictures and reflect on the memories experienced on this fabulous tour.
