2026 Upper Michigan
The Upper Michigan peninsula - also known colloquially as the U.P. or Yoop - is the northern and more elevated of the two major landmasses that make up the U.S. state of Michigan; it is separated from the Lower Peninsulas by the Straits of Mackinac. While there you may be called a "Fudgey" - what the locals call tourists, originated from the regions famous fudge shops there. Join us on the lighthouse search in this unique area to see more than 30 lighthouses from land and sea. Don't miss the opportunity to see these lighthouse.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Friday July 10, 2026 (D)
We will arrive at Austin Strubel Airport in Green Bay, WI. You can take the shuttle to the hotel. That evening we will meet each other at the Welcome Dinner and engage in conversations about the tour.
Day 2 - Saturday July 11, 2026 (B/L/D)
After breakfast we will travel to Menominee to see the North Pier Light. Our next stop will be Escanaba to see Sand Point Lighthouse and Escanaba Harbor Light. We will have lunch in Escanaba, then on to Manistique to see the Manistique East Breakwater Light. After this we will head to Seul Choix Bay to Seul Choix Bay Point Lighthouse. Along the way we will see the beautiful landscape and wildlife of this area. Then on to Newberry, MI to check in to hotel and have dinner there.
Day 3 - Sunday July 12, 2026 (B/L/D)
In the morning we will get our lunch to go and head for Whitefish Point Light Station where we will be able to climb the lighthouse and shop at their gift shop. We will go to Brimley State Park where we will have our lunch. After lunch we will depart for Point Iroquois Lighthouse, another climb and shop opportunity. We will have a unique stop at the Bear Ranch and then on to Tahquamenon Falls for dinner. We then head back to Newberry for our 2nd night at the hotel.
Day 4 - Monday July 13, 2026 (B/L/D)
We load up the bus this day and go to Crisp Point Lighthouse to have a tour. Then we depart for Grand Marais Range Lights and Museum. More views and shopping. We will eat lunch in this town and then go to Hurricane River Campground for an opportunity to see Au Sable Lighthouse. Our next stop will be Munising to see the Range Lights. We will stay at a hotel here and have dinner.
Day 5 - Tuesday July 14, 2026 (B/L/D)
After breakfast on this day we will have an opportunity to see Grand Island East Channel Light and Grand Island North Light. We will have lunch and then depart for Christmas, MI. (a town that got it's name from a factory that was built in 1938 that manufactured Christmas gift items). We will view Grand Harbor Island Range Lights and then off to Marquette Maritime Museum. Marquette is the largest city in the Upper Peninsula. We will visit the museum and the lighthouse. We will stay overnight in Marquette and have dinner there.
Day 6 - Wednesday July 15, 2026 (B/L/D)
Today we will do quick stops in Marquette to see Marquette Harbor Breakwater Light and Presque Isle Harbor Breakwater Light. After lunch in Marquette we will go to Big Bay Lighthouse. We will have a nice visit at Big Bay Lighthouse and then we will head to our hotel and dinner.
Day 7 - Thursday July 16, 2026 (B/L/D)
This morning we will see Keweenaw Upper Range and Eagle Harbor Range Lights. Then on to Eagle River Lighthouse and museum where we will climb and shop. Our next stop is Sand Hills Lighthouse. Our lunch will be in Calumet. Our next destination is Keweenaw Waterway Lower Entrance Lighthouse and Portage River Light. We will then travel to A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum. Then hotel and dinner
Day 8 - Friday July 18, 2026 (B/L/D)
A unique visit to the Quincy Mine and Hoist is planned for today and then lunch. We will then see Mendota Lighthouse. Copper Harbor Range and Copper Harbor Lighthouse is on the agenda. We will have dinner in Copper Harbor. After dinner it is planned to do an evening trip to see Gull Rock Lighthouse and Manitou Island Lighthouse. Back to the hotel.
Day 9 - Saturday July 19, 2026 (B/L/D)
We head for Ontonagon to see Ontonagon West Pierhead Light, and then off to Baraga to see Sand Point Lighthouse. We will have lunch at Canyon Falls Roadside Park. Our next stop is a break at Iron Mountain before heading back to Green Bay. We will fit in a stop at Grassy Island Range Lights. We arrive at our hotel and have our Farewell Dinner here.
Day 10 - Sunday July 20, 2026 (B)
