2025 - Lake Superior North Shore
Northern Shore of Lake Superior is a challenge to travel especially to see lighthouses. Don’t miss this opportunity to see 18 amazing lighthouses.
We start in Duluth, Minnesota and after viewing the Duluth lighthouses, we head for a tour of the famous Split Rock Lighthouse, one of the most photographed lighthouse in the nation. You don’t want to miss that!
We cross the Canadian Border and stop at Thunder Bay, Ontario for a couple of days with time to explore the area on your own. We will be taking boat rides to the remote islands to see Pie, Angus, Thunder Bay Main and Welcome lighthouses.
Our next destination is Nipigon, Ontario for three nights. Every day, we take a boat ride. We will see the following lighthouses: Trowbridge, Number 10, Lamb, Battle, Slate and Porphyry, where we will have lunch on the island and tour the lighthouse.
After a one night stay in Thunder Bay, we travel to see Grand Marais Lighthouse and tour Two Harbors Lighthouse. We say farewell at our dinner in Duluth, MN.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrivals and Welcome Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2 - Today we will see the lighthouses in Duluth Harbor, North Breakwater, South Breakwater Inner & South Breakwater Outer and visit Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center to see the 4th order Fresnel Lens from Duluth Harbor South Breakwater Inner Lighthouse. We will head north to Thunder Bay stopping to tour Split Rock Lighthouse.
Day 3: Breakfast at the hotel. We split into groups. One group will take a boat to view Pie Island, Angus Island, Thunder Bay Main and Welcome Island Lighthouses. Everyone else will explore Thunder Bay on their own. Lunch will be on your own. Once the boat returns, the other group will board the boat to see the lighthouses.
Dinner is on your own.
Day 4: Breakfast at the hotel. We check out of the hotel and depart for Silver Islet to board the boat to view Trowbridge Light then dropped off at Porphyry Island to see the lighthouse, explore and enjoy lunch on the island. We will view No. 10 Lighthouse on our return to Silver Islet.
Dinner will be at a local restaurant.
Day 5: After breakfast we will board a boat to take us in groups to see Lamb Island Lighthouse and the Nipigon shore. We will visit the Red Rock Interpretive Center and Nipigon Historical Museum.

Day 6: After breakfast we head to Rossport Docks to board the boat to Battle Island to see the lighthouse. Box lunch.

Day 7: After breakfast we will check out with bags on the bus. One group will board the boat to view Slate Islands Lighthouse while others will visit Terrace Bay Lighthouse and Aguasabon Falls & Gorge. Lunch is on your own. Once everyone has viewed both lighthouses, we will depart for our hotel in Thunder Bay with dinner in route.
Day 8: Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out with bags on the bus. We head down south to Duluth, MN with lunch enroute stopping at Grand Marais and Two Harbors Breakwater lighthouses for photos and climbing Two Harbors Lighthouse. We will also visit Two Harbors Museum.
Farewell Dinner will be at the hotel.
Day 9: Breakfast at the hotel & Check-out. Flights home.
