2024 Northern California

Day 1 - Saturday, September 14, 2023 
             Arrive at San Francisco and check into Embassy Suites (Night 1 of 2)
       1800 - Welcome Dinner at hotel

Day 2 - Sunday September 15, 2023
       After Breakfast we will catch the ferry to Alcatraz Island (15 minutes crossing). We will tour the island and climb the Alcatraz Lighthouse.  Back to the San Francisco Pier and then over to Pier 40 where we will board a boat to cruise San Francisco harbor.  We will have lunch on board and see from the water the following lighthouses: Point Knox, Point Blunt, Alcatraz, Fort Point, Point Diablo, Point Bonita, Lime Point (ruins), Yerba Buena Island and East Brother.   After the cruise we will head to the Oakland Harbor Lighthouse and have dinner at the restaurant there (Quinn's Lighthouse Restaurant and Pub).  Then back to the hotel.

Day 3 - Monday September 16, 2023
        Today we pack up and head for Point Bonita Lighthouse.  From this location you will have a distant view of Mile Rocks Lighthouse.  Next is lunch at Point Reyes Roadhouse.  After lunch we head to Point Reyes Lighthouse.  We will stay at Bodega Bay that night and dinner at the hotel.

Day 4 - Tuesday September 17, 2023
      We check out of the hotel and go to Point Arena Lighthouse.  We then have lunch at Point Arena Cafe.  After lunch we go to Point Cabrillo Lighthouse for a tour. We end up at a hotel in Fort Bragg and dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 5 - Wednesday September 18 2023
       After checking out we head for the Chandelier Drive Thru tree in Leggett and then lunch at Benbow Restaurant.  After Lunch we go to Table Bluff Lighthouse in Woodley Island Marina.  We then go to Humboldt Bay Maritime Museum to see the Fresnel Lens from Table Bluff Lighthouse.  Then on to Crescent City hotel for 3 nights.    

Day 6 - Thursday September 19, 2023
        We will spend the morning flying to Saint George Reef Lighthouse.  This will take most of the morning and will require shuttle to and from the airport.  We will also visit Del Norte County Museum which is home to a large collection of artifacts from Saint Geroge Reef Lighthouse. When not flying we are free to explore Crescent City.  Lunch and dinner will be on your own.       

Day 7 - Friday  September 20, 2023
      Today we visit Battery Point Lighthouse in the morning during low tide.  After this visit we can explore the city.  In the afternoon we will take a ride to Oregon to see Pelican Bay Lighthouse which can be viewed from Brookings Harbor.  We will have lunch in Brookings Harbor and then return to the hotel.  Dinner will be at a local restaurant.

Day 8 - Saturday September 21, 2023
        We depart Crescent City and head to Trinidad Head Lighthouse for a tour.  Then on to Cape Mendocino Lighthouse for a visit. Lunch is at a Garberville restaurant and then on to hotel in Ukiah, with a rest stop in Laytonville on the way.
        
Day 9 - Sunday September 22, 2023
        Check out of hotel and head for Windsor for a rest stop at the local Walmart. Our next destination is Fort Point Lighthouse at Fort Point National Historic Site.   Next, we will go to see the Lightship Relief LV 605.  We will then go to a hotel by the airport and have Farewell Dinner there.

Day 10 - Monday September 23, 2023
             Breakfast and flights home.
