Our Sister Service: Surfside Life-Saving Station

This year marks the 125th anniversary of the Surfside Life-Saving Station, an historic Nantucket landmark that represents one of the island's most colorful and storied periods. With this article, we celebrate the station, the first U.S. Life-Saving Service Station on the island and deemed to be the only one in the country still standing on its original foundation, and honor the surfmen who unselfishly provided the service.
