Little Red Lighthouse (Jeffries Hook) Slated For $13M restoration in Washington Heights, NY
Manhattan's Little Red Lighthouse, the waterfront landmark immortalized in a classic children's book, is slated for a restoration project with an initial $13 million investment, the Historic House Trust of New York City said Tuesday.
The nonprofit is working with Henson Architecture to restore the lighthouse beneath the George Washington Bridge in Fort Washington Park and improve the surrounding grounds.

Marquette Maritime Museum, MI, to conclude season with haunted lighthouse tour
This is your last week to visit the Marquette Maritime Museum before it closes for the season on Oct. 7.
Museum Director Hilary Billman says this year has seen another large turnout. People from all 50 states and even Marquette residents viewed the exhibits.

Something is rotting inside Chicago's most isolated lighthouse and almost nobody gets to see it
A quarter-mile east of Navy Pier, the Chicago Harbor Lighthouse still flashes across Lake Michigan every five seconds. But behind the functioning automated light is a historic structure now described as rusted, gutted and crumbling.
The lighthouse dates to the era of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition.

One of the most photogenic lighthouses in America, Point Betsie, is right here in Michigan and it's spectacular
You could spend a lot of money flying somewhere far away to see something beautiful, or you could drive to Frankfort, Michigan and stand in front of Point Betsie Lighthouse for free.

Legends come alive during Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, WI, tours
Under the glow of a full harvest moon Saturday, Sept. 26, the Eagle Bluff Light Station brought history to life for visitors in Peninsula State Park for the first of two Twilight Tour events presented this fall.
Looking out from the station, built in 1868, we witnessed boats cruise by while reflecting on the ships used to transport logs along Green Bay during the late 1860s.
