Tybee Island lighthouse, GA, marks National Lighthouse Day with new exhibit
Georgia's oldest lighthouse is marking National Lighthouse Day with a new exhibit, as the organizations behind its preservation reflect on decades of shared stewardship.
Lt. Edward Fisher of the U.S. Coast Guard grew up near the Tybee Island lighthouse. He said the connection between the Coast Guard and the structure runs deep.

You can climb the Erie Land Lighthouse, PA, or tower for free on these dates
One day a month, for only five months, Erie residents and visitors can make their way for free to the tops of a trio of towers with some stunning views of the city, Presque Isle Bay and state park, and Lake Erie.
Triple Tower Tuesdays returned this year on the first Tuesday of May through September at the Bicentennial Tower, 1 State St.; Erie Land Lighthouse, 2 Lighthouse St.; and Tom Ridge Environmental Center observation tower, 301 Peninsula Drive, Millcreek Township.

Point Loma Lighthouse, CA: The families who kept San Diego's beacon burning bright
High atop Point Loma, overlooking the entrance to San Diego Bay, families once lived in one of the most isolated homes in Southern California.
Their job was simple in theory but demanding in practice: keep the lighthouse burning every night so ships could safely find their way into the harbor.

Observed annually on August 7, National Lighthouse Day honors the beacon of light that for hundreds of years symbolized safety and security for ships and boats at sea.

Coast Guard begins maintenance project at Diamond Head Lighthouse, HI
The Coast Guard began a long-term maintenance project at Diamond Head Lighthouse in Honolulu in early August.
The project will focus on repairing aging concrete and replacing railings, decks, ladders, windows and frames. During the construction, the lighthouse tower will be temporarily covered with scaffolding and sheeting as a safety measure.

Lake Michigan home with its own Lighthouse (Kevich - faux lighthouse) -and a fascinating history- hits the market for $1.3 Million
A truly dazzling property perched on the edge of Lake Michigan has landed on the marker for $1.28 million - complete with its very own custom lighthouse that has a fascinating history dating back to the 1850's.

Heceta Head, One of Oregon's most haunted lighthouses is hosting a Halloween night of ghost stories
There are plenty of ways to spend Halloween in Oregon, but few come with crashing Pacific waves, a historic lighthouse perched high above the coast, more than a century of local history, and stories of a ghost that some believe never left.
On October 31, 2026, Heceta Head Lighthouse will host its Halloween Haunt, brining visitors to one of the most recognizable landmarks on the Oregon Coast for an evening centered around local history and ghost stories.
