Ribbon cutting marks new chapter for historic Preservation of Long Beach Bar Lighthouse, NY
The East End Seaport Museum and Marine Foundation celebrated the completion of Phase One of multi-year renovations to preserve the historic Bug Light - called "Rock & Dock"- at the lighthouse last Thursday evening.
Select community members joined museum officials aboard the Peconic Star VI for the trek out into Gardiner's Bar.

Hillsboro Lighthouse, FL, preservation group launches fundraising push for $2 million restoration project
The Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse has guided boaters along Broward County's coastline for more than a century, but those responsible for preserving the historic landmark say it now needs significant repairs to ensure it remains standing for generations to come.
Unlike many people assume, the iconic lighthouse is not funded by the federal government or the US Coast Guard.

Salem's Bakers Island Fresnel lens returns home 100 years after installation
Community members, volunteers and invited guests gathered at Bakers Island Light Station to mark the return of the station's historic 4th order Fresnel lens and its new public display.
The June 26 ceremony came exactly 100 years after the lens was first installed at Bakers Island in 1926.

Port Sanilac Lighthouse, MI, tours return for summer 2026
The Sanilac County Historic Village & Museum is pleased to announce the return of summer tours of the historic Port Sanilac Lighthouse, located at 81 S. Lake St. in Port Sanilac.
Tours will be available from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM every Friday beginning July 3 through August 28 with a $10 admission fee.

St. George Island Lighthouse, FL, hosts sunset & full moon climb
The St. George Island Lighthouse, Museum & Gift Shop will be hosting a Sunset and Full Moon Climb event.
The event will take place on Wednesday, July 29, from 8:30 PM. to 11:30 PM. The sunset will begin at 8:34 PM, followed by moonrise at 8:53 P.M.

Boca Chita Key Lighthouse, FL, reopens at Biscayne National Park
Biscayne National Park today announced the reopening of the historic Boca Chita Key Lighthouse to public visitation following more than two years of closure for major repairs and restoration work.
The ornamental structure, built in 1938, has long been one of the park's most recognizable and beloved destinations.
