Miscellaneous Remarks: Water is fast making encroachments upon grounds, especially on W'n side, coming w/i 15' of lighthouse bldg, endangering its stability. The dispute abt boundaries of Gov't property here is not yet adjusted.
Condition
Lantern: In good condition in every respect.
Illuminating Apparatus: In good condition - the Lens perfectly clear in all its parts.
Service Lamp: Perfectly clean outside & inside. Glass chimney free from soot, stains & smoke.
Oil: Lamps examined & found to be clean inside & outside. Oil has not been filtered.
Service Lamp Burner: It was free from gummy or burnt oil. 3 wicks were trimmed.
Service Lamp Burner Level: It was found to be level.
Plate Glass: It was clean; free from scratches; stain or dust.
Lens Cover: It was on, clean, made of linen ticking: hung up in the lantern room when not in use.
Lantern Curtains: 2 sets clean made of linen ticking put up & taken down at proper time.
Carillon or Alarm Bell: There was no alarm bell.
Rod Lamp: There was 1 Rod lamp.
Dwelling: Keeper's dwelling was newly painted & in good condition. Windows require shutters as the rains drive into the house.
Stairway and Landing: They were clean & in good condition.
Inside of Tower: The paint inside the bldg was in good condition.
Glazing of Dwelling: In good condition.
Improvements Needed: A lightning conductor is needed & shutters to the windows.

Grounds: Very good. They have every appearance of neatness & care.
