On behalf of the Board of Directors of the United States Lighthouse Society (USLHS), we are thrilled to invite you to a special virtual conference commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Act (NHLPA). 

This event, held on March 25–27, 2025, will bring together key representatives from the United States Coast Guard (USCG), the National Park Service (NPS), the General Services Administration (GSA), and lighthouse enthusiasts from across the country to honor the remarkable achievements of the past quarter-century.

What to Expect

  • Showcase Success Stories: Learn how the NHLPA has positively impacted America’s historic lighthouses through firsthand accounts from owners and federal/state agencies. 
  • Tackle Challenges: Hear insights on overcoming preservation hurdles and lessons learned along the way. 
  • Build Networks: Strengthen connections among lighthouse owners, managers, and historic preservation advocates for greater collaboration.

Since the NHLPA’s inception, over 150 lighthouse properties have been transferred to new caretakers, ensuring their preservation for future generations. This is your opportunity to be part of the celebration and engage with a vibrant community dedicated to protecting these iconic landmarks.

Event Highlights

  • When: March 25–27, 2025
  • Where: Online via Zoom, professionally produced to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Schedule: Three engaging half-day sessions from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Eastern Time), timed to accommodate participants across all U.S. time zones, including the West Coast, Hawaii, and Alaska.
  • Format: 
    • Daily keynote presentations by influential voices in lighthouse preservation. 
    • Six dynamic presentations each day, sharing stories of success, innovation, and collaboration.
