Dubbed “the bravest woman in America,” Ida Lewis saved countless lives as the keeper of Lime Rock Lighthouse in Newport Harbor, Rhode Island. On Saturday, May 24 at 1 p.m., we’re celebrating her incredible legacy with a graveside ceremony at the Common Burying Ground, featuring speakers, the crew of the USCGC Ida Lewis, and a new bronze Lighthouse Service grave marker.

The keynote speaker will be Lenore Skomal, author of "The Lighthouse Keeper's Daughter." U.S. Lighthouse Society Historian Jeremy D'Entremont will be the master of ceremonies.

Saturday, May 24. The ceremony starts at 1 p.m.
