Chesapeake Bay
Jun 02, 2018 to Jun 12, 2018

This tour begins and ends in Baltimore, Maryland which is only 38 miles from our Nation’s Capital, so if you come a day or two early you can visit the Capital Mall and all its wonders as well the many DC area attractions. Just to name a few: Lincoln Memorial; US Capitol; The Washington Monument; Thomas Jefferson Memorial; National World War II Memorial; Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial; Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial; Natural History Museum; Vietnam Veterans Memorial; Air and Space Museum; US Botanical Gardens; The Supreme Court; The Library of Congress; International Spy Museum; Washington National Cathedral. You could spend days just wandering the Smithsonian Museums let alone everything else just make sure you arrive back in Baltimore in time to start the tour.

The Chesapeake Bay tour provides participants with a wonderful journey, while learning some history and viewing a total of 33 lighthouses from the land and water. Along the way you will be able to tour the U.S. Naval Academy, several museums, take a few boat rides and see some historical ships.

The tour covers the entire Chesapeake Bay from North to South. Starting in Baltimore we travel down the western side of the bay ending in Virginia Beach, VA then crossing the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel to see Assateaque and then back inland to the Eastern shores of Chesapeake Bay and points north ending back in Baltimore.

Other activities include Baltimore Harbor, and its history, walking the beaches of Virginia Beach, and with more than 300 wild ponies roaming the area there is a chance you might catch a glimpse of them at Assateague Island National Seashore. To recap we will visit and/or see 33 lighthouses, tour and climb as many as we possibly can, reacquaint ourselves with old friends, make some new ones, eat some great food and believe it or not even with 33 lighthouses under our belt it will be a relaxing and fun trip.
