'Fabulous': Visitors finally step inside Grand Haven Lighthouse, MI
After many years of restoration work, the iconic 151-year-old lighthouse that sits at the end of the pier in Grand Haven opened to visitors Tuesday.
Crowds passed through to get a look in side what's known as the doghouse, which was abandoned and boarded up for years.

A visit to Bodie Island Light Station (colloquially known as Bodie Island Lighthouse) is one of the most popular things to do in the Outer Banks.

Muskegon South Pierhead Lighthouse, MI, is offering free tours for kids every Wednesday this summer
Hackley Public Library and Muskegon South Pierhead Light will host Children's Day at the Light, a weekly summer program offering free activities for families along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
The Wednesday programming runs from 1 to 5 p.m. through July 29, 2026, combining storytelling, educational activities and lighthouse tours at the waterfront location.

Topless Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, NC, is turning heads
Visitors to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in recent weeks may have noticed that something appears to be missing from the iconic black-and-white tower.
The lantern room, exterior gallery, decorative brackets, and much of the lighthouse's top section have been carefully dismantled and removed as crews with Stone & Lime Historic Restoration services continue an extensive restoration project that has now entered one of its most unique and somewhat unplanned phases.

Preservation project wrapping up at Split Rock Lighthouse, MN
The Split Rock Lighthouse is shedding its scaffolding as construction concludes on the iconic landmark.
The Minnesota Historical Society said crews are wrapping up a project that included a new sensor system to better regulate moisture levels inside the lighthouse.
