Coming Soon: A New Aquarium at Point Cabrillo Lighthouse in Northern California

As you enter the historic 1909 blacksmith and carpentry shop at Point Cabrillo, you step into a whole different world: the intertidal zone of the California coastline.  Visitors get a glimpse into the diverse and vibrant ecosystem of tidepools through the 240 gallon aquarium, maintained by the Point Cabrillo Lightkeepers Association (PCLK) nonprofit.

The Bolivar Point Lighthouse is a storied piece of Texas history

Built in 1872, the Bolivar Point Lighthouse is living history. A story of strength and courage. It is one of the few 19th-century lighthouses remaining on the Gulf Coast.

The Lighthouse has survived many storms, including major Hurricanes in 1900 and 1915. In 1900, 125 brave souls found shelter in the lighthouse to ride the hurricane out.

The White River Lighthouse, MI, is celebrating its 150th anniversary this summer

This beloved Lake Michigan lighthouse has been standing on shoreline for 150 years.

The history of the White River Light Station and Museum will be celebrated on Saturday, June 21, with an afternoon of festivities including music, food and drinks, a silent auction, raffle, tower climbs and lawn games, the Sable Points Lighthouse Keepers Association announced.

Lighthouse volunteers seeking to keep antique lenses in St. Joseph

Some volunteers for the St. Joseph Lighthouse are urging the city to do everything in its power to keep heirlooms on loan to the community from the U.S. Coast Guard in St. Joseph as the deadline looms to return them.
