'Blue Lady' ghost famously haunts the Hilton Head Rear Range Lighthouse (SC) on stormy nights

The legend of the "Blue Lady" - a specter who haunts a lighthouse in South Carolina's Hilton Head - has inspired local breweries to name a beer after the ghost, who has supposedly been spotted in her infamous blue dress.

Hayrides return to Sabine Pass Lighthouse (LA) after 20 years

For almost 200 years, the Sabine Pass Lighthouse has stood tall, surviving wars and dozens of natural disasters.

It guided ships until it was decommissioned in the 1950s, turning into a hayride trail for locals. Hurricane Rita made the trail unusable for 20 years - until now.

Play about the Pilot Island (WI) lighthouse keepers set to premiere in Chicago theater

The lore of a Door County island lighthouse at the gateway to one of the most notorious and deadly passages of water in the Great Lakes, and the dissolution of the island from its former lush, vegetated state to a now desolate, rocky outcropping, is the subject of a new play soon making its world premiere in a Chicago theater.

Historic beacon returning to Gay Head Light, MA

The Gay Head Light's historic three-whites-and-a-red pattern, familiar to longtime Islanders, will be coming back brighter than before after an upcoming renovation project.

Over the next six months, however, no beacon will shine from the Aquinnah Cliffs, as the lighthouse will be closed, turned off, and its top temporarily removed during a renovation project.

Volunteers return shine to Port Bickerton Lighthouse, Nova Scotia

The celebrated Port Bickerton Lighthouse recently received a refreshing uplift, when a small group of volunteers gathered to paint the working structure.
