Historic Point Fermin, CA, lighthouse gears up for coming spring-summer events
Celebrate sprint with the annual "Tea by the Sea and Boutique" on the back yard of San Pedro's historic Point Ferman Lighthouse on May 9, the day before Mother's Day.
The event is a tradition at the picturesque lighthouse in Point Fermin Park overlooking the ocean at the town's south-facing bluffs, with many attending in period costume.

Historic Burnt Island Lighthouse, ME, seeks couple or duo for seasonal caretaker role
The Department of Marine Resources is seeking a volunteer caretaker duo for the 2026 season at Burnt Island Light, one of Maine's most historic and beloved lighthouses.
The seasonal caretakers will live on the island, which lies about a mile offshore, and help welcome visitors, share the history of the lighthouse, and maintain the property.

NC Lighthouse Challenge part of the US' 250th celebration
Currituck County's America 250 NC Task Force has launched a yearlong challenge to visit 10 of North Carolina's lighthouses as part of the country's celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Called the NC Lighthouse Challenge, participants must visit the 10 sites and submit their photos with the lighthouse visible to nc.lighhouse.visit@gmail.com by the Dec. 31 deadline.

Tours of Tarrytown Lighthouse, NY, in Sleepy Hollow to Resume Saturday
Public tours of the Tarrytown Lighthouse in Sleepy Hollow will resume on Sat., April 4 -10 months after being halted due to vandalism.
Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said repairs have been completed at the historic waterfront landmark and security enhancements have been added.

Blyth Tall Ship recently welcomed members of the Association of Lighthouse Keepers from across the UK, who gathered to celebrate their shared passion for maritime heritage- accompanied by some much-appreciated sunshine.
Visitors were treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of Blyth Tall Ship's busy workshops, where traditional skills and craftsmanship are kept alive for future generations.

Historic Green Cape Lighthouse, Australia, recommissioned after three decades in darkness
After standing idle for more than three decades, a 143-year-old lighthouse on the NSW far south coast is glowing again.
The Green Cape Lighthouse, south of Eden, was the first concrete lighthouse in Australia, with construction completed in 1883.
