City landmark, Smeaton's Tower, UK, set for new lights after 11 years 

A landmark lighthouse in Plymouth is to get a new set of lights, as part of a planned multi-million-pound programme of works.

Hillsboro Lighthouse, FL, Gala raises $50K for historic restoration

Under the sweep of the historic beacon's powerful beam, the Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society (HLPS) raised nearly $50,000 in its annual gala for the continued restoration of the famed black-and-white "Big Diamond" structure.
