Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society, MI, to host 2 memorials for Edmund Fitzgerald
The Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society will have two memorials in honor of the 50th anniversary since the Edmund Fitzgerald sand on Lake Superior.
The commemorative ceremonies will happen on Monday, Nov. 10, with a public ceremony happening at 2 p.m. and a private memorial at 7 p.m.

Seguin Island, ME, seeks lighthouse keepers for next season
Seguin Island Light Station is seeking a motivated couple to serve as lighthouse keepers on the island during the 2026 season.
The role included clearing trails, mowing lawns, greeting visitors, giving tours of the tower and museum, and handling basic maintenance.

New Book Honors Generations Of Lighthouse Keepers
Author and illustrator John F.K. Small invites readers on a deeply personal journey rooted in New England's maritime past.
His new book, "The Small Family Legacy: A Journey of Ingenuity, Sea and Story," traces nearly 400 years of family history - including his ancestor Isaac Small, the first lighthouse keeper at Highland Light in Truro.

Manistee City Council, MI, to hear lighthouse update
Manistee City Council will hear an update on the Manistee North Pierhead Lighthouse during its upcoming regular meeting.

Work To Take Place At Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, Bermuda
The Department of Marine and Ports Services advised that crane operations will be taking place at Gibbs Hill Lighthouse on Monday, 20 October 2025, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to "facilitate the removal of the radar and essential repairs to the Lighthouse walkway/birdcage."
A Government spokesperson said, "During this time, public access to the Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, its grounds, and the surrounding area will be closed to ensure the safety of both visitors and work crews.
