The National Lighthouse Museum will host its 15th annual Light Keeper's Gala Aug 1 in the Historic Old Bermuda Inn.

22 Large blocks of the Lighthouse of Alexandria Retrieved from the Seafloor including its door lintels

Three decades after the waters of Alexandria's bay revealed the first submerged vestiges of the seventh wonder of the world, an international archaeological mission has successfully extracted from the seabed twenty-two of the most massive blocks of the legendary Lighthouse of Alexandria.

The operation, led by archaeologist and architect Isabelle Hairy, a researcher at France's National Center for Scientific Research, marks a crucial milestone in the "PHAROS" program.

Excavation at Split Rock Lighthouse, MN, uncovers historical pieces of construction

Restoration work at Split Rock Lighthouse uncovered long-lost pieces of the site's construction.

Archaeologists uncovered original rail ties and several railroad spikes for a tramway that was used to bring building materials up the cliff from Lake Superior during the lighthouse's construction.
