Barge that destroyed Hudson-Athens Lighthouse, NY, dock also hit the base
As engineers continue to study the damage to the historic Hudson-Athens Lighthouse after a barge hit it in April.

Preservationists have learned that the barge hit submerged boulders protecting the vulnerable lighthouse's base.

Historic Mayport Lighthouse (FL) in plans to be relocated
The Mayport Lighthouse Association (MLA) received an amount of $85,000 in grant money to explore moving the historic St. John's River Lighthouse.

They received $75,000 from the Florida Lighthouse Association and $10,000 from the US Lighthouse Society.

World's smallest maritime museum (Round Island, MS) reopens in Pascagoula
On Thursday, Pascagoula leaders celebrated the grand reopening of the Round Island Lighthouse Maritime Museum with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

While the Round Island Lighthouse has been available for public viewing for some time, the Parks and Recreation Department has been working to add new exhibits and displays to the museum.

4 charged in connection with arson, vandalism spree at historic Tarrytown Lighthouse, NY
Westchester County Police have charged four people in connection with the weekend arson and vandalism spree at the historic Tarrytown Lighthouse in Sleepy Hollow.

Two suspects, ages 18 and 19, have been arraigned in Sleepy Hollow Village Court and have been charged with Arson, Burglary and Criminal Mischief felonies.

Fourth Teen Arrested In Tarrytown Lighthouse Arson, Vandalism: Police
The final remaining suspect in the destruction at the Hudson Valley landmark has now been charged, according to Westchester County police.

The 17-year-old boy was the last suspect being sought by police.

Decomposed body found along Oswego Lighthouse, NY
A body in an advanced stage of decomposition was found at the Oswego Lighthouse on Sunday, June 8.

Around 6:30 p.m., a caller reported to police that they had found a body along the break wall of the lighthouse.

State parks officials had hoped the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse would open this month, after a $1.8 million renovation.

But extensive rot and crumbling brick mean the building remains closed and wrapped in plastic.

Someone keeps shooting historic Frankfort North Breakwater, MI, Lighthouse
Police are investigating after a historic lighthouse was found with bullet holes.

UpNorthLive reported this week that the North Breakwater lighthouse in Frankfort has multiple bullet holes in the glass at top lamp room level surrounding its lens.
