Tarrytown Lighthouse, NY, fire suspects caught on surveillance video, police say
Damage is now expected to top $100,000 after vandals set a fire inside a historic Westchester County lighthouse Friday night into Saturday, authorities said.

One year ago, the 1883 Tarrytown Lighthouse had just completed a $3 million renovation as the beloved landmark got extensive repairs.

Looking to take a trip to a pair of iconic, CT lighthouses? Here's how to book it
The Norwalk Seaport Association and the Green's Ledge Light Preservation Society announced a trip of five-hour cruises to visit two of Connecticut's most iconic lighthouses: Greens Ledge and Sheffield Island, according to the groups.

The cruises are all scheduled for upcoming Saturdays: June 7, July 12, and Aug. 9, according to the Norwalk Seaport Association.

On Memorial Day, as the late-afternoon's golden hues bathed Barnegat Lighthouse State Park, a crowd gathered along the boardwalk and bulkhead to witness something rare: the Toms River Multigenerational Orchestra performing outdoors against the backdrop of Old Barney and a glassy bay.

Look out for lighthouse tours at South Bass Island, OH
Through the Franz T. Stone Laboratory - Ohio Sea Grant, people can tour a historic lighthouse at no cost this summer.

"Owned and operated by the Ohio State University and Ohio Sea Grant, visitors to the South Bass Island Lighthouse can climb the light tower for a beautiful view of the lake," according to an event statement.

Marshall Point Lighthouse, ME, Temporarily Closed
The historic Marshall Point Lighthouse in Port Clyde is temporarily closed as it undergoes repairs from storm damage, with aims to reopen later in June.

The lighthouse's famed walkway, featured prominently in the 1994 film Forrest Gump, was damaged by the back-to-back storms that ravaged many Midcoast towns in January 2024.
