Kind of Foundation and Depth Below Surface: Foundation consists of 56 piles driven 35 to 40' so as to form a 20' square 6" above low water on the piles are cut off & capped. Upon this a crib 13' high having a batten of 4' on each face, is built filled with stone from the bottom.

Miscellaneous Remarks: Sides of crib sheathed w/ 3" oak & top or deck w/ 3" pine plank. On up & downstream corners large plates of 1/2" iron are fastened, the other corners being protected by iron straps 1/2" x 3", 4 in number. Rip rap stone are placed around the outside.
