This was the lighthouse Ida Lewis served at, who is one of the most celebrated lighthouse keepers in American history, credited with saving 18 lives

Welcome to Mystic Seaport




Constructed in 1874, the New Shoreham Life-Saving Station is one of the last survivors of the many Atlantic seaboard stations built to government specifications from Maine to Florida. The station was formally dedicated in 1975 and is now on its permanent location at Mystic Seaport.
