The Lighthouse Keeper's Oath

During the 1800s each lighthouse keeper was required to swear to and sign an Oath before he or she entered service. Shown below is the Oath that was required. 

US LIGHT-HOUSE ESTABLISHMENT.
OATH OR AFFIRMATION OF LIGHT KEEPERS.

I, having been appointed _______ keeper of the _______ light at _______ in
______ do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear (or affirm) that I will
diligently and faithfully execute all the duties of the said office of
______ keeper of the said light __________ to the best of my ability and in
strict conformity to the rules, regulations, instructions, and directions
which have been or may be prescribed, and in obedience to all laws that have
been or may be passed by Congress for the government and management of the
United States Lighthouse Establishment service; and I further solemnly,
sincerely, and truly swear (or affirm) that I will support the constitution
of the United States.
