The U.S. Lighthouse Society is about to embark on what just might be our most unique, inspiring tour yet: Norway and the Northern Lights. On this special winter tour will combine our love of lighthouses with the search for the stunning Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis phenomenon. Traveling in early December, visit snow-clad towns aglow with Christmas lights and holiday festivities and Christmas markets. We begin in vibrant Oslo and travel by coach along the southwest coastline to explore lighthouses and small towns. In Stavanger, we will board a private boat to tour the beautiful Lysefjord.  Our land portion concludes in enchanting Bergen, a celebrated seafaring town set amidst fjords and mountains.  Here we will board our ship, Hurtigruten’s MS Finnmarken, and spend the next 7 days comfortably cruising the stunning coastline and searching for the Northern Lights. As we navigate the islands and passageways to reach the top of the world, we will witness life in the villages studding the coastline. At each port of call we have several options in shore excursions from dog-sledding to shopping for local crafts. We return to Oslo via a commercial flight, where you may wish to explore further on your own before heading home. So, pack your parkas and your sense of adventure for this rare opportunity to venture past the Arctic Circle in search of stunning natural beauty and historic lighthouses with your fellow wickies!

6 nights accommodations in outside cabins on board MS Finnmarken
