Ford Reiche's passion for Maine and its history stems from his family’s many generations in the state. He has acquired and restored several buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, including Halfway Rock Lighthouse, far out in Casco Bay. Ford Reiche bought the 1871 granite lighthouse at auction from the federal government in 2014. The Maine Preservation Association recognized the project with a Preservation Award, and the American Lighthouse Foundation presented Ford with a “Keeper of the Light” award. In this presentation, Ford will discuss the history and preservation of Halfway Rock Lighthouse. Advance registration is required.
