The American Lighthouse Council (ALC) is a preservation practitioners’ organization, and does not answer the general public’s lighthouse history, heritage and tourism questions. Those matters are handled admirably by other lighthouse organizations and sites, and the ALC purposely avoids duplicating their efforts.
